Remarks
The GDG had serious concerns about the potential for harm to mother and baby with this procedure. The panel is aware of an ongoing trial, the Gentle Assisted Pushing (GAP) trial (1), which could help to provide important evidence on the effects of applying fundal pressure according to a specific protocol.
