Interestingly enough, there is only one word (宅) in Chinese to describe this culture, while in English there are generally three: nerd, geek and dork. There are subtle differences in the meaning of each—a dork isn’t necessarily a nerd, and a nerd isn’t necessarily a geek, in other words.
