I have researched the issue and included references both here and on the Stand Up page. The chord progression is not so unusual that it had to have been borrowed. The Eagles opened for Jethro Tull in 1971 or 1972. However, the chord progression and melody was composed entirely by Don Felder, who did not join the band until 1974. While it is possible that Felder was aware of the JT song and consciously or not used it in his composition, there is no connection as was suggested by Ian Anderson.Bob Caldwell CSL (talk) 18:44, 1...
