The cremated remains of Stephen Hawking were interred in Westminster Abbey on Friday, June 15, 2018, between those of Isaac Newton and Charles Darwin, two other giants of science. More than 3,300 Britons are buried or commemorated in the 1,000 year-old abbey, including 17 monarchs - Queen Elizabeth I among them - and some of the nations greatest musicians, scientists and poets.⟶[1][2]
