Heres how we use blossom and bloom (for flowers) where I live.Blossom is the flower on trees and shrubs. So, you get almond blossom, apple blossom, pear blossom and so on.
We would use blossom where individual flowers are part of a mass of flower.
So tulips, daffodils, roses, snowdrops and so on would not be blossom.
Bloom would be used as a noun for large individual flowers such as roses or camellias.
"She selected the most perfect blooms from her rose bush."
"Heavy wisteria blooms hung over the door."
Again daffodils and the like would not normally be called blooms. We would just call them flowers.
As a verb, all flowers (blossom and blooms) and all buds, etc. bloom.
The verb blossom would normally be reserved for the flowers we call blossom.
