Hmm, a few things to address there.
First of all just to get it out of the way koalas are not bears. Its just koalas.
The chances of seeing them seem very mixed. There are some in a large walk-in enclosure in a local animal park here and I have often found it quite hard to find them. When they are asleep high up in a tree they can be very hard to see. Yet on the other hand in some parts of Australia people see them regularly in their own backyards. I have only seen wild ones once and that location is out of your way so sorry thats of no help to you. The question really relies on local knowledge so hopefully someone can suggest somewh...
